BBC News bulletins 'could be axed within 10 years' as coverage moves online, the corporation's head of news has said.
Conservative councillor Joel Williams: "We are asking the over-75s to pay the licence fee which I think is a disgrace. The BBC is going to take away the programmes that they most frequently watch. Once again it demonstrates that the BBC is out of touch... let's scrap the licence fee".
Kevin O'Sullivan: "The BBC has hired a special squad of 800 enforcers to go around the country making sure that pensioners pay their licence... if that involves pensioners going to jail, I can see the BBC letting it happen".
